Human Resources Manager
Matthews Motors is the operator of both Volkswagen St. John's and Audi St. John's, and we believe our people are our greatest asset. We are very excited to create and hire for this new position within our organization, and the ideal candidate will be tasked to work with senior management to administer and advise on all human resource functions.
Position Overview
As a Human Resource Manager at Matthews Motors, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing human resource programs and initiatives that align with our company's strategic goals. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, guide managers on employee relations matters, and ensure compliance with relevant employment laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Volkswagen and Audi defined training and employee development
- Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and practices that promote a positive and inclusive work culture.
- Advise and assist managers in performance management, career development, and employee engagement efforts.
- Manage employee relations, addressing concerns, conflicts, and ensuring a respectful workplace.
- Benefits administration.
- Stay current with employment laws and regulations to ensure company compliance.
- Analyze HR metrics and trends to provide insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Assist with candidate screening and interviewing
- Monitoring/implementing employee recognition and milestone program
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 5+ Years of proven experience in human resource management.
- In-depth knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels.
- Demonstrated experience in handling sensitive employee relations matters with tact and professionalism.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing HR challenges.
- Experience with unionized labour contracts.
